Welcome to sinasamaki.com. This is a place to learn how to build delightful Android apps. Here you will find illuminating articles, detailing implementation of inventive and mesmerizing designs, using Jetpack Compose.
Why?
Android apps have had a bad rap. The freedom that we love so much on this platform led to countless, low-effort-design apps in the store. There have been multiple efforts to remedy this. The most prominent and valiant being Material Design from Google themselves. But, as expansive as it is, that is just one vision. This website is my attempt to offer something different.
No, I will not offer you a brand new design system (nor do I have the resources to even create one). My goal is to challenge the idea of what is possible on Android, and show you the steps along the way. You may copy the steps, but my hope is to awaken a curiosity of what more is feasible. My wish is that one day, you will see some crazy interface that a designer conjured up in a fever dream, and you'll say, Android can do that!
